THE PREMIER OF THE MOVIE 'TOBI'

TGIF ushered in a prosperous new day with much to look forward to, the sweet weekend filed with endless events, parties and good times.

Friday took off with me anxiously waiting to see the much anticipated Nigerian movie

'TOBI'

I met the glamorous Chisom Oz Lee a day before at the just conclude SCREEN WRITER'S GUILD WORKSHOP.

A vibrant cool and beautiful woman with a warm personality; I loved her bright blond wavy hair and honey colored eyes. You can just imagine what she would have on for the Premier of the movie TOBI that brought her back to her home land

At 7pm I arrived at OZONE cinema, just in time for the beginning of the red caret.

It stretched up till 9pm with an array of NOLLYWOOD stars adorning the red carpet with beautiful features, wining smiles and of course six inch shoes, knee length gowns

And the men, mm mmmh delicious, you'll think you were in HOLLYWOOD.

To spice up the day, the ever vibrant array of Nigerian celebrities graced the occasion with outfits to die for and their winning (some) and loud personalities... Jide Kosoko, Emem Isong,Benedicta, Zeal,Vaughn, Dabling, Yinka Davies, Manny, Mark Williams,  Chisom Oz-Lee, Omoni Oboli, Emmanuel Ijeh, Zeal, and many more dazzling faces faces from the entertainment industry, comedians, models, actors, writers, producers, directors and all

Here's me with Yinka Davies and Jaiye

Here at Ozone cinema Yaba to support the movie shot in New York and New Jersey

I was fortunate to meet the Executive Producer of the movie Emmanuel Ijeh, tall, calm and collected, he wanted my honest opinion about the movie, as a Screen Writer and a Film Addict

Here's what i told him

The Theme 'Education and family' is one on our lips and I do commend him for addressing issues that need to be addressed

'The dialogue was on point, jokes made people laugh and the emotions sort out were achieved.

The movie TOBI had a good mix of Nigerians, Americans and Hispanic; Chet Anekwe (Phat Girlz, 30 Days, Unwanted Guest), Mark Lavan Williams, Jimmy Allen, Chisom Oz Lee, Arturo Castro, Patrick Dean and Elizabeth Ness.

The story build up was good and believable as the characterization was on point and the situation of the brothers true to the plot the sound effects are on point light camera and all

Good casting and scenarios

The director was good and conveyed all intended messages, scenes, emotions

But, (yes I have to say but, no film is perfect) the movie started out 'too American', could have been edited/ cut shorter to help none Americans absorb the aim of the scenes.

The director conveyed well the emotions and scenes but got carried away in one scene that 'annoyed viewers' prompting the 'ah ah' chorus was the BUMPING SCENE with the book.

It was overall a good movie, but there is room for improvement and he assured me that he would.

So I commend him for taking the bulls by the horn and gracing us with this movie TOBI

For I believe many more will come

Do watch it and tell me your own views.

Have a fun filled weekend
